Located in Saint-André-lez-Lille in northern France, Lemahieu works hand-in-hand with Safilin on French an european flax yarn, from our linen spinning mill in Béthune (59).
Thanks to this collaboration, Maison Lemahieu can guarantee 100% French flax yarn, from seed to finished product. Everything takes place within a maximum 400-kilometer radius, between Normandy and Hauts de France.
The collaboration between Safilin and Lemahieu reflects the importance of preserving our production resources in France : maintaining know-how and developing local partnerships. Alone we go faster, together we go further !

History of Lemahieu, a French story :
Over 75 years ago, Henri Lemahieu founded his textile company. Over the years, the atelier has grown, reaffirmed its know-how and become a committed fashion brand. Every day, the company passes on to new generations the knitting techniques it has inherited from previous generations to design their own fabrics, as well as the cutting and confectioning techniques. Sustainable fashion relies on this richness, which the workshop cultivates again and again.
Lemahieu’s aim is to export know-how and a quality product, manufactured under good working conditions. This vision implies close collaboration with consumers, who become ambassadors for the brand and the region. The company’s strategy is to move from a manufacturer’s logic to a manufacturing brand, promoting the Maison Lemahieu brand while continuing to manufacture for external brands. This approach makes it possible to produce small runs, just-in-time to minimize inventories, and to produce long runs for partner brands, enhancing productivity.
Lemahieu’s ambition is to become a DNVB (Digital Native Vertical Brand) with its manufacturing brand Maison Lemahieu, developing first online before launching into exports. In this way, Lemahieu embodies the future of French textiles : sustainable, innovative and deeply rooted in its territory, as evidenced by the collaboration with Safilin, just 23 kilometers from Maison Lemahieu. 5-year warranty
The idea is simple : Maison Lemahieu is a manufacturing brand. It embodies a promise of quality and the absolute confidence the company has in the items it manufactures in its Saint-André-lez-Lille workshops. To prove it to their customers, they guarantee the repairability of their French linen t-shirts for 5 years after purchase. For them, it’s a way of prolonging and ensuring their lifespan. And to pass them on, rather than throw them away. For the company, it embodies their vision of a manufacturing brand. Better still, it reflects Entreprise’s mission : to make the cleanest clothes in the world.
The 5-year warranty on linen T-shirts covers the following damages :
- Ripped seams
- Abnormal wear holes
- Accessory defects
- The guarantee applies only once per product.
Spring-Summer 24 collection, partly out of stock.
Sales of French linen T-shirts exceeded forecasts, forcing Lemahieu to renew an order of French linen yarn from Safilin. This will keep the company in stock until the end of December, before the colors are renewed for Spring-Summer 2025.

Collaboration with 1083 :
1083 X Lemahieu join forces to launch a pocket t-shirt in 100% French linen. An original linen t-shirt that showcases the expertise of two French workshops !
It starts with a 230g/m² high-end jersey in a natural, local material for all seasons. The result is a sturdy, timeless piece that will accompany you gently through the summer season and beyond.
Collaboration with Safilin :
Safilin and Lemahieu have been collaborating together since 2019 on linen yarn, which was originally spun in Poland. At the time, Lemahieu could only use a European linen yarn, and not a 100% French linen yarn. Following the return of Safilin, close to the flax fields, to Béthune (59), collaboration between the two structures has only been strengthened, and they now work exclusively with French materials. Contacts between the two companies are frequently exchanged, to facilitate each other’s work, in knitting for Lemahieu, and in spinning for Safilin.
A traceable finished product thanks to 100% european flax yarn
In France, it’s possible to have a product that hasn’t left our territory at any time, for any processing whatsoever. The flax field is in France, the farmer is also French, as is the seed. The scutching and spinning are in France, as are the knitting, garment making and dyeing.
